JFK Doctors Are Dying

The doctors who worked so frantically on President John F. Kennedy on the day of his assassination are growing old and dying themselves. A legacy of insights and information is passing away with this group of individuals.

Today, May 1, 2012, saw another one die.

You may have heard the story before. The scene was dramatically shown in Oliver Stone's JFK. Dr. Earl Rose stood in a doorway at the Dallas' Parkland Hospital where Kennedy's body was taken on November 22, 1963, in a vain attempt to block Kennedy's aides as they removed his coffin, as government agents pushed at Rose and other doctors.

The Secret Service and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy prevailed, and the president's body was flown to Bethesda Naval Hospital, where an autopsy was done by pathologists James Humes and Thornton Boswell. Their findings have been used to support an array of conspiracy theories about Kennedy's death.
Rose, who died Tuesday, [May 1, 2012,] at age 85, believed many of those theories wouldn't have gained traction if he had been able to do his job. He told The Associated Press in 2003 that he and his staff should have done the exam.
"We had the routine in place to do it ... it was important for the chain of evidence to remain intact," Rose said. "That didn't happen when the body was taken to Bethesda."
Rose's widow, Marilyn Rose, said her husband wasn't angry about what happened at Parkland Memorial Hospital but did his best to follow the law.
"At that point, there was no federal law on the assassinations of presidents," she said. "If the autopsy was done in Texas, it would have followed the law."
The Warren Commission concluded in 1964 that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in shooting Kennedy. It found Oswald likely fired three shots, one of which struck Texas Gov. John Connally after hitting the president.
Marilyn Rose said her husband agreed with that assessment and began speaking publicly about the assassination after the release of Oliver Stone's 1991 film "JFK," which promoted the view that the president's death was the result of an elaborate conspiracy.
"As far as I know, he definitely felt it was a lone gunman and that the shots came from behind and that there was no second gunman on the grassy knoll. He felt the trajectory of the bullet was a described — that it hit Kennedy and then hit Connally," she said.

Rose, according to news reports like the one above, which you may read in the coming days, "conducted Oswald's autopsy, as well as those for Jack Ruby, the Dallas nightclub owner who killed Oswald two days after Kennedy was shot, and J.D Tippit, a police officer believed to have been killed by Oswald shortly after the assassination." But Rose was not able to do a complete autopsy on JFK, and Rose's speculations about the "lone gunman" are just that, speculations.

An anesthesiologist who attached a heart monitor to President John F. Kennedy in a Dallas hospital's emergency room and interviewed wounded Texas Gov. John Connally for surgery also died, relatively recently. He was one of the doctors who definitely thought a lone gunman was out-of-the-question, from what he observed.
Dr. Adolph H. "Buddy" Giesecke Jr. (above) was 79. The doctor's son, Martin Giesecke, says his father died Christmas Eve, December 24, 2011, at his home in the Dallas suburb of Irving.

The elder Giesecke was working at Parkland Hospital on November 22, 1963, when Kennedy was assassinated and Connally was struck while riding in the same vehicle. The son says Dr. Giesecke recalled that the president didn't flinch while he inserted heart probes into Kennedy's skin.
Giesecke spent most of his career at Parkland's neighboring University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He was chairman of the anesthesiology department from 1981 to 1992.

One of the more famous doctors at Parkland that fateful day, Dr. Charles A. Crenshaw (above), who believed that Lee Harvey Oswald wasn't a lone gunman, died the same week his book was republished by Paraview, in November 2001. (Foreword by Oliver Stone, (NY: Paraview Pocket, 2001). Crenshaw's new edition was released on November 22, 2001, only a few days after he died on November 15, 2001, at his home in Fort Worth. He was 68.

Occupy Beltane: Anarchists Plot To Bomb Cuyahoga Bridge

The first major national story tied to a timing on May 1st (see Occupy Beltane) comes from Cleveland and the Cuyahoga Valley. 

Five alleged plotters (three described as anarchists) have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to use explosives to destroy a bridge near Cleveland, Ohio, the FBI said Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012. The alleged attack was aimed at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Brecksville Station bridge. The final plan allegedly named the Route 82 Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge, which crosses from Brecksville to Sagamore Hills, as the target.

The men considered a series of plots over several months before deciding to target a Route 82 bridge that crosses from Brecksville to Sagamore Hills over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the FBI said in a news release.

Douglas L. Wright, 26; Brandon L. Baxter, 20; and Anthony Hayne, 35, were arrested by members of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force Monday night on charges of conspiracy and attempted use of explosive materials to damage physical property affecting interstate commerce. Also arrested were Connor C. Stevens, 20, and Joshua S. Stafford, 23.

"The public was never in danger from explosive devices," the FBI said in a news release. The defendants were "closely monitored by law enforcement," and the explosives planned in the operation were "inoperable and posed no threat to the public," according to the release.

Fox News reported it is unknown if the bridge incident was connected to Occupy Wall Street's plans for nationwide protests Tuesday.

At the news conference held at 10 am on Tuesday, the FBI said distracting smoke bombs were to be set off, and with the initial idea to have corporate signs on top of Cleveland buildings bombed. Later, the bridge bombing plan was put into place.

"Cuyahoga" is usually said to mean "crooked river." The history is a bit more complex. The river has had many spellings for its name which is translated into numerous meanings.

“Cayagaga” was the first name by which the Mohawk Indians (who are in the Iroquois Nation) designated the stream that sprang from the northern part of what is now Portage County and proceeded west and south through the gorge and over the falls called “Coppacaw” to the junction with the Little Cuyahoga, and then north again to enter into the lake later to be known as "Erie."

This explanation of the word meaning "crooked" from which Cuyahoga Falls got its name, was given by James Smith. James Smith was captured by the Indians in 1755 and escaped in 1759. He writes of one of explorations of the area, "We turned up the Cayagaga and hunted for several days until we came to the junction in the Cayagaga. The upland is hilly and second - and third-grade land; the timber chiefly black oak, white oak, hickory, and dogwood."

An educated Seneca Indian (another Iroquois Nation group) claimed that the name "Cayohaga" meant to the Senecas "The Place of the Jaw Bone," and was thus applied to the river and the locality of Cleveland, because in the dim past before the Whiteman came, the jaw bone and other portions of a mastodon were found near the river about five miles from its mouth."

May Day is a traditional day for pagan, political, and power events of all kinds. The ancient Celtic fertility holiday celebrates the rites of Spring with much frolicking and fun. May 1st is also traditionally recognized as International Workers’ Day.

In 2012, expect something a little more than usual. Do not be surprised by what you discover occurring on this first Tuesday in May this year. Get ready for Occupy Beltane.

Bloomberg News states, "Calls for a general strike with no work, no school, no banking and no shopping have sprung up on websites in Toronto, Barcelona, London, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, among hundreds of cities in North America, Europe and Asia."



The conservative CNS News reported on April 19th: "As part of Occupy Wall Street’s call for a nationwide 'general strike' May 1, elements within the group are looking to shut down bridges and tunnels in both New York and San Francisco. Occupy Oakland, the most radical of all the local Occupy groups, passed a resolution April 15 that vows to shut down all travel from Marin to San Francisco."

What I shall call "Occupy Beltane" events are planned in 115 cities throughout the U.S., from college towns such as Amherst, Massachusetts, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Pay attention to what landmarks get the media spotlights: the Golden Gate Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Holland Tunnel, and other symbolic (phallic) sites. Or as Adam Parfrey points out to me, the "new World Trade Center will be erected."

At this time, it is unclear how involved (if at all) the movement Anonymous will be in the May 1st events.

Beltane or Beltaine (/ˈbɛlteɪn/) is the anglicised spelling of Old Irish Bel(l)taine or Beltine (modern Irish Bealtaine [ˈbʲal̪ˠt̪ˠənʲə], Scottish Gaelic Bealltainn [ˈbʲal̪ˠt̪ˠənʲ]), the Gaelic name for either the month of May or the festival that takes place on the first day of May.

The date is known by several names, including Kala-Hanv (Breton), Cala Me (Cornish), Giamonia (Gaulish), Belltaine, Boaldyn (Manx), Cétshamain (Modern Irish), Bealtuinn (Scottish-Gaelic), Cyntefin, Dydd Calan Mai, Calan Mai (Welsh).

Beltane is the time of the May Pole, the ultimate phallic symbol, celebrating the fertility of both the earth and of mankind. It is a time of sexual liberation, of love and growth. It is the youth of the year, and like any youth, it is fertile and sex is on the brain. This year, it will be a time for more. Although the planners are not talking about it, the significant of "fire" behind the day may not be denied.


Whether the name of the day is translated as "shining fire" or "Beli's fire" is uncertain; the Welsh name for the day is unhelpful--Calan Mai, which simply means "First of May."


The Beltane fires were lit on the hill of Uisnech; according to the text The Fitness of Names, the practice was begun during the age of the Nemedians, by the druid Mide; it, like the Samhain fire, became the source for all the fires of the season. It is said that the druids would drive cattle through two bonfires on this day in order to prevent disease.

Being a "Coleman," "Coalman," "Coal man," one of the perceivers, the ones that began the beacon fires at the Beltane hilltops on the Old Track, the leylines, I've done a good deal of research on the name "Cole." 

It can be a first name employed as a nickname for Nicholas (one of the power names identified by Jim Brandon). More commonly Cole is the common surname, derived from the Old English "cola," meaning "coal" - that coal in those Beltane fires on the high points of the leylines.

I'll be watching the "fires" (whatever that might mean) during this Occupy Beltane moment.

Anniversary Footnote:  United States President Barack Obama took to a White House podium a year ago on May 1st, to tell the world that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had been killed. Osama bin Laden was killed in Bilal Town, Abbottabad, Pakistan, on Monday, May 2, 2011, shortly after 1:00 am local Pakistani time by DEVGRU/SEAL Team 6, a United States special operations military unit. Threats of terrorist incidents from a weakened al Qaeda have been mentioned for May 1st, American time. Few officials publicly feel such attacks will be carried out.
